I've been receiving quite an education lately. Some people describe substitute teaching as easy money, nothing but babysitting. I'm discovering that it's not like that at all.
I love to teach, but substitute teaching involves very little teaching and a lot of crisis control. Every class I sub is like the first day on a new job. The good news is that these are good skills to gain now, before I have my own full-time teaching position. The bad news is that I'm going to need these skills once I'm teaching full-time. :)
So, I'm definitely being stretched right now. I just have to keep reminding myself that it's a good thing.
